If you are using the ose version from suse repository it doesn't support
usb. If you are using the binary from
http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads it has usb support and
the latest version works out of the box with usb but you must uninstall
any other versions first. The new 2.1 versions setup everything and even
work with ipods nowadays.
