Well, ish. The issue with Logo's is that they're the first thing people use to judge your project. If people don't like it in general, that's important information to take on board, regardless of whether a viable alternative is on the table.

I have to say, personally, I'm not totally against the original logo -- it does have simplicity on its side. That said, like everyone else, I appreciate the need to move on. Maybe we should be considering delaying changing the logo, and having some kind of logo contest (cliched, I know) to make sure we choose something that has general appeal?
