Very good response Paul! <!-- @page { size: 8.5in 11in; margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> Negative reaction is very important to look at when people are genuinely seeking for input rather than for corroboration.
IMO logo should be either completely neutral like some geometrical shape or bear ubiquitous reference to something. I think the proposed unicorn does not fit in any of those categories. Well, ish. The issue with Logo's is that they're the first thing people use to judge your project. If people don't like it in general, that's important information to take on board, regardless of whether a viable alternative is on the table. I have to say, personally, I'm not totally against the original logo -- it does have simplicity on its side. That said, like everyone else, I appreciate the need to move on. Maybe we should be considering delaying changing the logo, and having some kind of logo contest (cliched, I know) to make sure we choose something that has general appeal? Just my $0.10.
