thank you for this, although I can't really understand most of any of it. I will pass it over to Lunarpages tech and see what they have to say. I have no administrative control whatsoever. I am simply a paying customer to Lunerpages, to host my website, and among their "free" tools is Spam Assasin which is the default filter.
If you don't have control over the configuration, then it doesn't make much sense for Lunerpages to tell you to look into it. In order to do anything with SA, you need access to it's configuration files. If they have control over the configuration, then they need to figure out why it's not working.
I am unclear why raising it back up to 5 would make it work "better". As it is, I am able to see what it filters out as I have set it to throw everything it thinks is Spam into a folder (instead of auto-delete) and the only thing it has ever filtered were email messages from Lunarpages!
Raising the required score to 5 will prevent problems with false positives (non-spam marked as spam) once you figure out why it is not working properly.
I can supply literally hundreds of headers as I've saved up over 400 in my trash, not that I have the time to do all that. But if you think it would help you answer the question better.
Make sure the X-Spam headers are there and give us a couple of them so we can see what is going on.
I took a look at pastebin, but I'm unfamiliar with how it works. Do i copy/paste something then give everyone the URL or what?
Copy/paste the email message into pastebin and then post the URL here so we can look at it.
Could also just email them to you.
Since it is spam, if you email them, they will probably be filtered out and may not even make it to the list. That is why we suggest using pastebin to provide spam samples.
