Personally, I consider them a violation of netiquette. Which is to say, if you subscribe to a mailing list, you're not supposed to send these out of office messages, and other bulk, to the list. It is a matter of personal responsibility; if you do not know how to behave on a mailing list, then you have no place being there. And a properly configured OoO message should never make it to the mailing list anyway, as 'bounces' should go to the envelope-from, and most certainly not to the list address. So, either people do not know how to behave on a mailing list, or their mail system is broken. Take your pick. Both are grounds to kick someone off a list. And on a personal note, there is something severely megalomaniac about sending OoO messages; I'm sure you're the hotshot at the office, but personally I couldn't give hoot whether you're out of office. - Mark System Administrator Asarian-host.org --- "If you were supposed to understand it, we wouldn't call it code." - FedEx
