    Which installer did you use?

Fedora 43, KDE Plasma edition.

Which desktop were you running before?

Fedora 42, KDE Plasma edition.

Are you still running from the live or the installed system?

From an installed system. Again,  I elected a mount-point assignment protocol. In fact the live installer said it existed to install a new system either to coexist with an existing system,  or overwrite it. You're the first person to tell me that the live installer is for repair,  not replacement.

It's for either, although usually for install. But in this case, I thought you wanted to fix the existing install. I haven't used KDE for a very long time, so I can't help you with that.
