Just a clarification.

magnolia.develop=false (that is the default) will observe resources on the 
filesystem under magnolia.home=${magnolia.app.rootdir}. So in my example of a 
"light" module it wasn't necessary to switch to magnolia.develop=true in order 
to have Magnolia pick up the changes. magnolia.develop=true  is only needed for 
observing resources changes on the cp.
