how about having two (or more) application lenses? This isn't as silly
as I first thought it was because only one of them has to implement the
globalsearch function and populate results on the home lens of the dash.
There could be the standard one with the recent stuff and adverts from
software centre and a separate one that just does applications by
category with a really fast, in-memory simple search of the applications.
Anyone know if there is there a python API to access the system menu or
should it read the .desktop files in /usr/share/applications?
