Imre Gergely, Not necessarily true about older hardware doesn't seem to freeze.
Mine is Core2Duo with Asus Mainboard and Nvidia Geforce 7600GT. 2GB DDR2 ram. Running fine with Windows 7, but when booted with Ubuntu it's like playing russian roullette. I was about to try ubuntu 10.04 when I read your comment. sigh.... As I remember it, the older 10.04 doesn't have this problem. But seems like it happens on your systems too. I have tried the #713 fix (with 3.5.0-24 kernel) initially seems to worked really well for about 1 week, then started to randomly freeze again even up to 3 4 times a day. Now that I think about it, could it be caused by a regular system update that brought back those freezes? I have yet another system update just yesterday, now it seems to be working well again for two days.... I'm running 3.5.0-25-generic kernel now (if these kernels had anything to do with those freezes at all) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993187 Title: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently.
