I had that problem, the solution was 2 part. 1. Get trunking and do the cable properly so that they are hidden. 2. Make sure there is lots of goodies on the media centre for her :) I currently has a Netgear EVA8000 media centre, connected over 100MBit lan cable. It streams the data from my NAS box in another room. On HD video it struggles. This could be anything from the processing power of the Netgear, to the disk read speed of the NAS, to the limit of the LAN connection. I suspect the LAN is the problem. I would therefore suggest that you look at making the best connections to avoid this problem. Fixed cable first, then AC network, and then only resort to wireless.
