Hi, Having the XMBC a distance from the TV itself could be an issue. Although there are those TV broadcasting things (http://www.digisender.net/wireless-tech.php) where you plug in an adapter into say a set-top box and it broadcastds over RF to the reciever plugged into the TV. The link is to a fancy one with IR capabilities, I'm sure there are cheaper ones that just broadcast the sound and video and thats it.
I'm thinking that the ethernet-over-power is your best option, with the XBMC hidden from sight in the lounge somewhere. Behind the TV?
