If you mean using one of those Audio/Video extenders then yes it would work but you'd also have to turn the XBOX on (or leave it on) and control XBMC via the web interface (in fact you should be able to do this from the G1). Saying that though, XBOX consoles are cheap now, I've got about 3 of them (2 soft modded, 1 solder modded) and they work lovely as media players.
