It worked :) thanks Mathew! I had to add xres=1280 yres=1024
to my /etc/usplash.conf and run sudo update-initramfs -u to get the resolution right at boot. Only adding the resolution to usplash.conf fixed the problem only at shutdown. Now I finally have a nice usplash at boot :) Now my question is: Is this a bug? I have never had any problems with the upsplash resolution before and for what I see more people have the same issues.
