My resolution is 1280 1024 and my monitor is capable. It's a Hyundai ImageQuest Q770. I've added the line virtual 1280 1024 to my screen section in xorg.conf but the resolution at boot (when Ubuntu logo and progress bar are showing) is still wrong. The logo is huge and deformed.
