oddvar: I'm happy this worked for you. I did not edited any configuration text though. I think that you didn't use the ADVANCED CompizConfig Settings Manager. If you have it installed it must be under System->Preferences->CompizConfig Settings Manager.Open the software center and write compizconfig (one word) and install the ADVANVCED ccsm.

I think that the bug #449272 is similar but requires a different fix. Check also the bug #428783 which was the same problem but with the clock applet. The fix for the clock applet can't fix the invest-applet and the fix for the invest applet can't fix the dictionary applet.
