@steve:

Catscrash is right!

Besides you're right! It seems that ubuntu would have been need more
time for a stable release but that's their philosophie; every 6 month a
release. As a owner of a netbook msi wind it's more than worse, for e.g.
i tried gnome-shell and it runs from time to time unstable. I've also
have a 6715s running ubuntu 9.10 with gnome-shell and ... no probs!

In short: Don't forget steve; ubuntu is a peace of many peoples around
the world and not a propietary of canonical at all.

For e.g. the new sound environment is still working perfect with many
other software e.g. skype. I'm using for e.g. a bluetooth headset and i
can while i'm running skype change to the netbook mikro. This is, i
guess , still not possible in Win7.

And gnome-shell is a hell of good and very clever peace of desktop -
never seen better before. If it's released (may be to late in one
year...) it's mine and i'm working just right now with it at my notebook
and ... after bugfixes here and flickering also, i will use it in future
on my netbook. So far.

cheers
Knuutsen
