You may want to try the following: 1. Connect your Dell mini 10v to internet via ethernet. 2. install the following 2 packages: dkms and patch
sudo apt-get install dkms patch 3. Follow the instructions stated in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+source/jockey/+bug/443185/comments/35 to load the latest bcmwl driver.
