BTW don't take these arguments as personal attacks... I am not attacking you as an individual but counterattacking the absurd view shared by large number of people. Although they may use linux I have seen many people to hold wrong idea... > > first of all the default installation of most linux does not take more > than5GB (for ubuntu 2GB is recommended but we keep using 8GB for > flexibility). but windows take 10+GB of shit space... > > go install linux and windows side by side and see what apps you have by> > default you will get the idea... > > The 5 GB installation and 15 GB installation -- Does the 15 GB installation > has anything more than the 5 GB one ? > What if we say that windows takes that space for flexibility as well ? It's > true that we do have more apps installed in Linux than Windows. But it's > also true that we have more visual beauty pre-shipped with Windows than > Linux. The default look of Ubuntu is somewhat equal to Windows 98 in my > opinion. > And I strongly believe that we should stop comparing windows to linux. > Thats our question too..... if other Free (as in both freedom and free bear) os with more applications and features can get installed within 2-5GB why windows with no real useful apps should take 15GB? About visual beauty there are many Distros that do offer visual beauty from default installation..... but we do not "actively" support those distros because they are not following Free Software Philosophy properly...... We are not the one who compares Linux with Windows (simply because we know Linux is better :P )...... Most Linux converters (newbies) from Windows comes and keeps comparing Linux to WIndows and bragging (and crying) about how they did something in Windows and how they can't do such thing in Linux...... then the real argument starts..... Again I'm saying here I do hate Microsoft for their policy and Windows for poor product quality, however I would not attack them in public mailing list unless its required (for the shake of argument or whatever).... -- Thanking you Shahriar Volunteer, Bangladesh Linux Users Alliance http://linux.org.bd http://forum.linux.org.bd Marketing & Contents Officer, Ubuntu Bangladesh http://www.ubuntu.linux.org.bd Endorsement: আমাদের প্রযুক্তি ফোরাম http://forum.amaderprojukti.com/ and মুক্ত.অর্গ http://mukto.org -- Ubuntu Bangladesh | http://ubuntu-bd.org ubuntu-bd@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bd
