So I notice they addressed this on Idol two episodes ago; Seacrest appeared on screen, maybe from his home, and explained the show about to be shown (first of the Hawaii shows) had been shot in January. Maybe The Voice is in a similar schedule.
If Live Shows don’t have to start until May it is not impossible they could still go on in some kind of modified way, maybe a little delayed. My CA county has extended its stay at home order through the end of April. At my hospital we are making telephone appointments into mid May, and it looks like they envision us working from home for at least a month, plausibly longer. MLB things it is going to start back in June. It’s hard to imagine thousands of people in a studio audience watching a concert in Los Angeles any time soon the way things are now (maybe no audience, but just cast and crew who pass health checks?) though it would have been hard to imagine how we do things now two months ago. I really enjoyed that iHeart concert; maybe they will try doing the live shows from people’s homes? I guess they can’t re-edit these taped shows. Given the amount of emotional pain and anxiety I deal with every day (and probably most Americans are dealing with in every day life) My emotional state these days is such that I wouldn’t mind if they only showed the happy stories of people getting the good news they made it. I was embarrassed to find myself tearing up when one of the girls got a “No” just now, which is not my normal state when watching these shows. Obviously this at the bottom of anyone’s priority list, and my life will go on just fine even if there only a Top 20 (or whatever it is) this season and no winner. I’m just interested in how they are going to address this. Also, I guess I’d like to imagine that we are able to get back to some kind of normalcy by mid to late May.
