My recollection from the past couple of seasons was that CBS would drop the show in the 10pm timeslot if an afternoon game went exceedingly long (+45min), but it didn't happen often. FOX has the built in buffer of "The OT", although a show scheduled for 7:30pm could get the hook if a game runs long, because heaven forbid we don't get 30min of wrapup and shouting (RIP Futurama). Also, FOX has one less hour of primetime than CBS, so a slight bump earlier in the evening will only impact local news.
