Just to refresh - it is not that I really want this kind of banter between
Colbert and JB; I just think that since Colbert seems determined to make JB
a contributing player in the show and not just a musician, I think it would
be less destructive to the show to channel it in this kind of traditional
vein than to keep trying to turn JB into some kind of skilled improv
partner, which he clearly is not,
