Yes, typically ill migrate the install from one disk to another with clonezilla 
and then expand the disk with gparted to resize the file system to the desired 
size. 

If the boot record has been changed in some way after that you can re-write 
that info by booting a recovery console off an XP or Win7 disk and running 
fixmbr or fixboot.
