You could make a separate partition/drive for your iTunes...and then move
iTunes stuff to that partition/drive

The Windows system I used to run iTunes on crashed 18 months ago.... but, I had
been rsync'ng my iTunes directory to another computer where was being backed up
by BackupPC. The Windows system might not have been such a total loss if I had
repartitioned it...it came as a single 1.5TB C: drive. My previous system had
been broken up in 5 partitions.....

I then restored it to a directory on my new FreeBSD host and shared the
directory into VirtualBox and iTunes seems okay with it...lost all my play
counts/ratings and the data it mines from that.

The lack of USB 2.0 though is kind of a problem though. Though I've been
playing around with a usb over ip adapter....but haven't tried putting an ipod
on it. I did use the adapter to root an android tablet recently.

Pretty much going to try to avoid having to have a physical Windows box. Can't
leave the VM running 24/7 yet....but once I get around to sifting through the
image of the corrupt drive of my former physical Windows box....that should
solve the problem of the VM filling up my disk. Though I compacted the VDI
this morning, so that should help....

There are also ways to back up Windows....I've played around with BackupPC of
Windows boxes.... and other products (before BackupPC, I used to do tape backup
of my Wndows systems :)
