"SG" == Saj Goonatilleke <s...@redu.cx> SG> I absolutely adore my Etymotic hf5s. If I were in your SG> situation, the first thing I would look at would be a pair SG> of Ety hf3s.
SG> http://www.etymotic.com/ephp/hf3.html SG> I have read that the only tangible difference between the SG> two are the addition of a microphone and controls on the SG> hf3. The hf5s isolate like a sensory deprivation tank and SG> sound great to boot. I have these, and they work pretty well in my machine room (and on planes) without additional sound protection. I went the extra step and got the Custom-Fit earmolds made -- Etymotic allows you to go to a cooperating audiologist and pay $100 to have impressions taken of your ear canals and the earmolds made and fitted (they send the impressions in to have the final earmolds made). Mine are a clear rubber-like material, and they seal better and are much more comfortable than the eartips that shipped with the headset. (I have particularly small ear canals, and even the smallest eartips were too big, leading to discomfort after a couple of hours. Thus far, the custom earmolds are quite comfortable once they're seated. But if the standard eartips work for you, you might not need or want to spend the extra on the custom molds.) They also sound really good. ;-) Claire *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* Claire M.
