I have been a long time fan of PalmOS devices, and still have a TX in daily use. However, it doesn't work with 64-bit and never will. I was able to sync it with a 32-bit XP inside a VMware Workstation, but that's a major PITA. The most recent Palm devices also had a lot of stability issues as they tried to cram new features into a very old OS. It's already a dead platform, and I would not recommend anyone starting out with a new PDA to get a Palm (talking about the old PalmOS here, jury is still out on their WebOS). The clear choices today are iPhoneOS or Android. You might be able to pick up an Android phone without data service. Otherwise, you're looking at an iPod Touch. It's going to work with 64-bit, and has plenty of apps as well as usability and it's a modern platform. It's no use pining for the days of yesteryear when these devices were called "PDAs" and they only did a few simple things. Those days are gone so you need to accept what's available today. Everyone has the chance to make recurring revenue with smartphones/data plans, which pretty much killed the standalone market. _______________________________________________ Tech mailing list Tech@lists.lopsa.org https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tech This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
