Niel, why say Mobile Speak users don't get free upgrades? They have only ever charged for one upgrade so far, to version 4. I already know from Caroline that upgrading to version 5 will be free.
I'm not saying Code Factory will never charge for an upgrade ever again, but, surely, now that you sell Mobile Speak as well as Talks, and if dealer support is a justification for the Talks transfer fee, shouldn't the info you give on both be accurate? That way customers will know all the facts before deciding which to go for. I like to have both screen readers available to me, so I'm not having a go about the fee. It's still more affordable than the sim-based license for this girl with a handbag full of Nokias. LOL!
