Did you by chance change something in the object viewer for the role that
has the name/number of the person on it? Did you set up a Application
specific setting for the telephone program to unmute during a call. This
over rides any settings made in the Advanced tab of Talks.
Myself, I like to hear the name of the number/person that I'm calling. But
this always stops if it is still speeking when the phone is answered. But
99% of the time, the name is done said long before the phone is answered.
This is even true when I call a bank system. But even then, I do not need
to hear the prompts each and every time to know what I initially need to
do.

Hi Stephen,
I set my Talks to always mute during a call, but when I dial to call,
Talks announces the number or the name I am calling if that name is in my
contacts.
What is annoying is Talks starts talking while the other end is talking
as well.
For example, I am checking my balance, I cannot hear the amount it's
saying because Talks interrupts that I often redial and listen closely.
I tried to mute the Talks before pressing the dial key, yet it didn't
helps.

Estelita
Please expand on how it is causing issue if you have it muted. What is
it doing? or not doing?

Hi guys,
I set my Talks to always mute during a call, yet it is still
interfereing, which is inconvenient especially when I am checking out
my remaining balance.
Is there something else to set to fix this behavior?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Estelita
