Hey guys - I had a question about tagging "wayside shrines." The wiki

The wiki does not posit that they are Christian, on the contrary:
There is a subtag religion and the text says: "Frequently found along the
way in Germany, Austria, Italy and probably elsewhere" and refers to the
Wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayside_shrine where the
second picture is a shrine in Tokyo.
But I don't like the "historic=" tag, because in other contexts it referes
to he past use of a building or other object, whereas many wayside_shrines
are recent and still in use.

This led me to think about other religion-neutral tags main tags, and using

I would use historic=wayside_shrine for the small shrines, whereas place of
worship for the bigger ones.

This is clearly not religion-neutral and I would like to see some neutral
tags for these objects

but there are millions upon millions of Shinto Gates and small figures of

I agree with this proposal.

It would also eliminate the doubts which I always have when entering a
brand-new "historic=wayside_shrine" or wayside_cross
