Dear John, I'm the author of the French versifications sheme, I'll do my best to to answer your questions.
There are actually 3 French versification schemes available in Sword/JSword: - Calvin (Bibles de Genève, Martin, Ostervald...) - DarbyFr (Bible Darby) - Segond (Bibles Segond) This a fresh addition, so you'll need to work with Sword >= 1.7.903. The French v11n are named canon_calvin.h, canon_darby.h, canon_segond.h. I guess there is maybe something wrong in your encoding, not specifically the annotateref tag.
