Browsers have support for audio processing. Chrome can handle multi-channel streams (maybe other browsers too). The quality is a collaborative effort; I integrated existing ideas, software and content. > Please continue! This is something that all of us newbies, who > flocked to this list because of 360/VR, want to see happening. It's already happening, but to my knowledge there's no free (as in software) solutions. My intention was to create such a solution, and sadly my code is too messy to be released now. > Not sure how long it will be before Youtube/Cardboard will put this > into reality, but as far as I know, apart from proprietary apps by > big players such as Jaunt and IM360 etc, it does not currently exist > yet, so people settle for stereo, binaural, 5.1 or game engine > plugins that don't sound very good for music.. Online VR (with cardboard type devices) is not much about music than suspension of disbelief for short periods of time. > If this could be integrated somehow into a web based spherical video > player, Yes. I'm not in business and I'm not an academic, I'm just interested by sound as an amateur; maintaining a subscription based site would be more work. The real problem is to convince audio engineers to work with Ambisonics; I think it'd be viable for the creation and distribution of online binaural "VR" audio experiences, without any proprietary software or obscure methods involved. It could happen. > (Or maybe Google will recruit you for $$M/year...:-)) Giants like Google don't need me (or so they?) :) > Bests, > > Albert Thanks for your kind comments. -- Marc _______________________________________________ Sursound mailing list Sursound@music.vt.edu https://mail.music.vt.edu/mailman/listinfo/sursound - unsubscribe here, edit account or options, view archives and so on.
