Not quite sure how we got from defining acousmatic music to film sound
I mentioned that the word is used with cinema sound. It's not just music that
can be acousmatic, it's sound as such. Michel Chion has developed a number of conceptions that were needed to be able to discuss cinema sound. Such words didn't exist. Acousmatic is one of them. There's others: acousmêtre, audio-vision, synchresis, etc. These have nothing to do with technical things. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michel_Chion Eero _______________________________________________ Sursound mailing list Sursound@music.vt.edu https://mail.music.vt.edu/mailman/listinfo/sursound - unsubscribe here, edit account or options, view archives and so on.
