This is a great question.

I think that the initial years these were used, they were kept short for price
and hydraulic considerations. So relocating to another tile will be very
limited.

I see now, most have shifted to a longer drop as supply and demand has balanced
some.

So, I think this same question in a few years, would yield different results.

Also, let's keep in mind, flex drops are fittings. There fore, you can remove
from outlet, and use in another.

At least that is my read.

I have seen all varieties but some of it may be dictated by the EOR. They have
their own ideas about flex drops. One engineer specified that they be replaced
with hard pipe if moved from the original location.

Just wanted to take a quick pole on the forum from contractors.
When you go into an existing building that has previously been renovated with
flex drops, are you reusing them to swing to a new tile (not removing from the
existing outlet)?
Are you reusing and removing from an existing outlet?

Thanks,
Jamie Seidl
