Greetings - We would like to implement SpamAssassin at the gateway level using Postfix as the MTA. We want to be able to mark messages as spam but still deliver the messages to users. Users will create client-side rules using their mail client - Outlook 2000 - if they wish to filter the spam. Simple so far. The issue we have is that we do not want the subject to be altered. We would prefer to use the add_header option and have users create an Outlook rule to filter mail based on specific words in the message header. I looked through the FAQ at http://wiki.spamassassin.org/w/FrequentlyAskedQuestions and found this: 1 How can I change the way SpamAssassin marks up messages it considers to be spam? The best step is to type "man Mail::SpamAssassin::Conf" at a shell prompt -- amongst other things, this explains the options available.
You want to focus on "add_header", "rewrite_header", "report_safe" and a few others. Please try not to use the deprecated options as this will eventually disappear. Since we don't have SpamAssassin installed presently, could someone give me to the output for the above command or point me to better documentation on changing markup? I'd like to review it. Any other feedback on this procedure would also be appreciated. Regards, Russ ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials.
