Hi All, I am not exactly sure of what the problem is here. It looks like you are using MySQL only for scores. I am using it for all user preferences, and had submitted a change I made to allow SA to use a Query (ie multiple joined tables). Scores and everything else have worked flawlessly since we put it in. There is a couple of gotchas that I know about. The first is that only the first e-mail address is checked for a score, so if there are multiple users that the mail is addressed to and the first one has a higher score level than the rest, the mail will only be assessed against that level. The other gotcha is that if there are no user preferences it falls back to a default level. I actually put in a "nobody" set of preferences and scores in the database to make certain that it fell back to that.
Also, make sure that [EMAIL PROTECTED] has permission to connect to your MySQL database. We use FQDN for ours as we run two mail gateways with SA, and both need to see the same userprefs. Failing to do this will mean that it can't connect. Here is the bit (modified) from local.cf that we use: user_scores_dsn DBI:mysql:spamassassin:machine.ourdomain user_scores_sql_username user user_scores_sql_password xxxxxxx user_scores_sql_table userpref left join aliases on userpref.username = aliases.realusername user_scores_sql_field_username aliases.username user_scores_sql_field_preference userpref.preference user_scores_sql_field_value userpref.value The user_scores_sql_table statement is useless in an unpatched SA, so don't use it. It should only contain the name of the table you are using. The username, preference, and value field settings have default values, so if your table conforms to the default, you should have no problem. I am willing to assist with the SQL coding if help is needed. Although not on the Devel list (easy fixed), I would definitely like to assist with SA in any way I can. BTW, great work by all the Devs. BTW, which SA are you using? I have not yet upgraded to the latest. Still using 2.54 Regards ============================================ TUSC Computer Systems - www.tusc.com.au John Stevens - MIS Manager, Senior Project Engineer Mobile: 0419840411 Direct: 03 9840 4428 -----Original Message----- From: Jeremy Zawodny [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, 16 December 2003 10:34 AM To: Justin Mason Cc: Mitch (WebCob); [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [SAtalk] MySQL not working? I've been using the [My]SQL SA stuff since the early days for ~15,000 users. But I won't have much time to look for a few weeks. And, when my damned book is finally done (soon), I'll have more time. This could be interesting to play with. Jeremy -- Jeremy D.
