Haven't tried the Windows vim. Biggest advantage I found with UltraEdit was the syntax hilighting, and how customizable it was. As an example, I frequently work with IPC GenCAD and GenCAM files, and was able to quickly configure UltraEdit to recognise the keywords. Looks like vim has much of the same features... have to give it a try too. Hadn't realized that a fancy vi was available for Windows...
