Edit. Those of us who contribute tend to contribute with scores which are appropriate to our systems, and therefore they may not be appropriate for yours. My rules, for instance, have scores based on my 9.0 threshold. If you're running with a 5.0 threshold, then my scores may be much too high for you. It's best to be conservative. If you're going to spend any time at this at all, add the rules with low scores, and then when you have enough experience to know how they work within your system, raise them just enough to catch all of the spam and none of the ham. s> What recommendations are there on ensuring that you don't seriously s> affect performance? Watch the rules sites and this list, and wait ... if rules submitted to the sites cause performance problems, that notification will generally appear here fairly quickly. s> Does running additional rules affect the bayes engine? most definitely. And assuming they are good rules with good scores, they affect the Bayes engine to your advantage. The emphasis must always be on: learn email correctly, and do not learn any email the wrong way. s> I'm sure there are more questions, but I'll stick with walking first. There's a lot of rules discussion on the two sites -- read and contemplate, maybe experiment, and then ask.
