Hope you forgive me for answering :o)

Of course :)

Yes, tabs are pretty common (and IMHO more readable). To continue a header
line, the next line has to start with any white space character.

Ok, that clears that up. I'm pretty sure the problem is with Squirrelmail, either the tabs or the long lines, I was mainly posting a copy in this list to find out if the new header behaviour of 2.60 was legit or not...

Nope, but there were some other changes in the code, too. Especially the
breaking after the dot looks suspicious.

Yes it is, but as I pointed out in my message, there is no such break when I look directly at the mailspool, so I don't think its a problem with SA, just that the new header format is confusing (some) other mail clients.

I do wonder though whether the very long lines are a good idea. Normal email bodies are normally wrapped to a certain maximum line length, is it necessary for headers to be wrapped as well ? Since 2.60 the X-Spam-Status header is no longer wrapped, its just one big long line and I wonder if that could cause problems with other clients as well as Squirrelmail ?

Could you please send me such an example?

I can if you really want, but there is nothing visible wrong with the message(s) as viewed directly from the mailspool, it seems to be a wrapping problem (or unwrapping) in Squirelmail...
