What hoops ? You're already subscribed to the list or you wouldn't be able to send this message :) What other hoops are there ? I've always found the SA developers very approachable, far more so than the people on many other lists I'm subscribed to....

Its still an extra two operations. Sub, ack, And it leaves my email
address in yet another subscription to keep track of.

What's to keep track of ? If the list is never going to send email to a "noemail" subscriber, I don't see a problem...


All you're effectively doing is saying "yes, I'd like to be able to post to the list thanks"....

I for one am glad that the list was finally changed to subscribers only posting, its cut the bogus spam and virus warning responses down to nil. (I also havn't seen any trolls since then....which used to start up a dozen message thread every time without fail :)
