Well I wouldn't say you _have_ to be in on the devel loop if you want to "take a peek and try it out".. However if you're not in on the loop you should take stability issues, false positives/negatives and unexplained new features with a grain of salt.


Basically anyone outside the devel loop can feel free to set it up on a test box where they don't care if things get strange, broken, or mangled. I would not try to use it on mail that matters unless you're someone like Justin or Theo and have a good solid understanding of just how stable the code currently is.

Personaly I keep a loose eye on the devel list and the bugs being worked on.. I usually only set up CVS versions on a spare box at home to test if a bug that has been bothering me that was reported as fixed is really fixed or not, and to try to nail down some reproducible bug data if it isn't. Although I do also sometimes set it up to take a "sneak peek" at the new toys :)
