I think it was Theo who recently wrote that this wasn't being done since the server was already rocky (also my experience, sometimes it claps out during a CVS update, or is already dead :) and building the tar.gz killed it. I update mijn via the CVS server very early in the morning (CEST) in a standard spamassassin CVS download directory. The first time do: export CVSROOT=:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/spamassassin cvs login cvs co cvs logout Use <ENTER> for the password Subsequently, swap 'cvs update -Pd' for 'cvs co'; then only the updated files will be sent over. However, I repeat: Always keep a copy of the last good version that worked, always run 'make test' and see that it completes without *any* errors and back up your Bayes databases before running 'make install'. Stop the spamd service before doing any of this. Search through all of the subdirectories for "new" things. The new 2.60-CVS has proved absolutely fantastic - to me, at any rate - and I haven't had any troubles for a while. However, as Matt wrote, it *is* development software and things change without any prior notice. This includes the rules, which may or may not be useful in practice.
