Matt/Tony, thanks for the info. and the nudge in the direction of the
documentation. I tried out the CVS copy mainly out of curiosity. Based
upon subsequent discussions, it looks like if I'm not in the development
loop, then I may as well stay away. No problem there.

As for picking up a stale copy of the CVS version --- I got that by going
to the "downloads" page:

And under this heading, "Latest bleeding-edge code, 2.60:
NOTE: these are built nightly from CVS. They may be unstable!, I
picked up the tar.gz file, which is indeed (still) the April 27
incarnation.

So, it seems that this copy is not built nightly?

I could've used remote cvs, which I believe is mentioned elsewhere, but
this seemed easier. I'd say if this file isn't going to be kept up to
date as the comment indicates, then the download link should be removed
and the user should be told how to hook up to CVS.
