I attempted to look through the archives for a solution to my question, but I was unable to find one as of yet. If this has been asked and answered, however, I ask only that you forgive my waste of your time, and point me to the appropriate resources.

Background:
I am attempting to set up SpamAssassin for a small web design company. Mail for their customers' domains is split between two machines, with part of the users on one machine, the remainder on the second machine. (Several hundred mailboxes total, if memory serves.) Currently, I am considering setting up spamd on a third machine, and for those customers desiring spam filtering we will add an appropriate .procmailrc script to utilize spamc. In order to reduce time and effort needed to maintain settings for the various users, I have been considering use of the SQL configuration.

Question:
Should the instance occur where two users on the seperate machines have the same username, how would/should this conflict be handled? As best I could tell from the schema provided in the SQL documentation and the spamc documentation, it appeared I would have to do something along the lines of creating the second user's preferences in the SQL database with something appended to the username to make it unique, then add '-u newusername' to the .procmailrc. Am I correct in my assumption, or is there an easier way to handle this?

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

Sincerely,
Albert Croft
