Here's some example timing from running SpamAssassin through
amavisd-new.  It calls Razor directly, and disables all other network
checks.  My mail server does the network checks directly at client
connection time, so as to reduce the workload I give to SA.

You'll see that the network checks (Razor) are what take the bulk of
the time.  It seems Razor's servers are fast today ;-)


So how exactly do you invoke SA?  You should be using it in some
daemonized method (via spamd or amavisd-new, for example.)
