Yes, I've tried the Cloudmark plugin for Outlook. It's very beta right now. It seems to have two functions 1) take new messages delivered to the Inbox and scan them as they come in and 2) scan a whole folder on demand. The first works ok. Unfortunately, when I start work in the morning I get almost 100 messages (more like 200 on Mondays) in my inbox no matter how small it was the day before. That takes a few minutes to chew through with the plugin. During that time, Outlook usually crashes at least once which wasn't happening before the Cloudmark plugin was installed.
In the plugin's defense, it's not the only one I have running. My company standardized on a small German company's PGP and S/MIME add-in called CryptoEx and it has a history of not playing well with other software. That could be part of the problem. I haven't been able to report spam. It comes back with a dialog stating it couldn't reach the servers. I haven't put much effort into that problem, since I'm more interested in getting SA to run with 5000 users who don't have procmail right now. :) It's hard to tell how well it grabs spam. This morning it only marked 3 messages, out of 25 spam. But I have an old mail address that was a mistake an ISP made years ago that only gets spam now. It goes through Notes and then to Exchange, so there are no headers. Lately I've been thinking it's most of my spam. So, I just aliased it so it will deliver with headers about a half hour ago, we'll see how that affects things. bill -----Original Message----- From: rODbegbie [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, June 24, 2002 19:14 To: Theo Van Dinter; Jefferson Cowart Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [SAtalk] Razor Theo Van Dinter wrote: > As someone else stated, 2.3x doesn't support Razor2 yet (although > patches are available via Bugzilla). Vipul & co are taking the somewhat amateurish approach of releasing barely-tested code (and shouting down people on their mailing list who are making constructive criticism -- http://www.geocrawler.com/lists/3/SourceForge/2539/0/9013083/), so even standalone, it just plain don't work. Wait for them to settle down a bit before worrying about SA supporting it. (As an aside, has anyone tried their Outlook plugin yet?) rOD. -- "300 people living out in West Virginia have no idea of all these thoughts that lie within you" >> Doing the blogging thang again at http://www.groovymother.com/ << ------------------------------------------------------- Sponsored by: ThinkGeek at http://www.ThinkGeek.com/ _______________________________________________ Spamassassin-talk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/spamassassin-talk ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This message and any included attachments are from Siemens Medical Solutions Health Services Corporation and are intended only for the addressee(s).
