As nearly as I can tell these are the perl modules on my system that are
used by SA and include $&, $', or $`.
spamassassin/lib/Mail/SpamAssassin/PerMsgStatus.pm
/usr/share/perl/5.6.1/Exporter/Heavy.pm
/usr/share/perl5/Net/DNS/RR.pm
/usr/share/perl5/Net/DNS/RR/ISDN.pm
DNS.pm has $VERSION = "0.19";
Exporter.pm has $VERSION = '5.562';
I wish the perlre manual page was more specific about the exact behavior
of the performance penalty.
