Hello,

I'm looking into the feasibility of offering SpamAssassin support to the
customers of a mid sized web hosting operation (~15,000 customers). We
all use it internally - and there is little question as to its
effectiveness in dealing with the problem - but there is concern that
running it on our servers could cause some problems.

Mainly, our worries fall into the realm of load. By default we would
leave spam filtering turned off, but allow customers to turn it on for
their accounts. We would make most functionality - such as the addition
of addresses for white-listing or changing of weights - available from a
web based control panel, so this really wouldn't be something limited to
the geekier/techier type customers.

We'd actually expect (and hope) that our mainstream customers would get
a lot of use out of it.

Are there any similar web hosts or ISPs currently using SpamAssassin in
a production environment? Smaller but still significantly sized web
hosts or ISPs? I personally would really like to see us provide this to
our customers, but it'd be useful to have some case histories or numbers
on other organizations that have similar offerings, just to show that
it's not impossible or impractical.

Thanks!

- Jeff
