Translation: Your MUA is broken and you wish the list config to be broken to make it easier for you to manage. Doing this forces replies to the list - often not a good thing, often dangerous when you try to send a personal reply to someone and the reply-to flips your reply onto the list. It also gives a further excuse for broken autoreply/vacation system to spam the list. A decent MUA has a group/list reply function, as well as a standard reply (ie reply to the original sender), and a reply-to-all function. Your change takes away these choices and means people have to work round the list brokenness.
