my intention was not to demand an alternate supporting article.

If you notice, the article by arundhati roy elicited a wide ranging
response, primarily to refute what she wrote, and to emphasise that
the content of her columns is one dimensional and carefully excludes
other paths of reasoning -- this is something that is not immediately
apparent to a non-indian / foreigner.

Clearly things are never black and white, which is why i was confused
why that article could be taken at face value when the article by
arundhati roy could not, yet in many ways the two articles are similar
in that they allege deep seated problems on the state of the two
nations.
