Actually, atleast one of the board of directors must be a PR. Thats why us kiwi blokes can come over and start a company :-)

I'd rather you saved the beer money to pull in a prospective customer, and the cash to build your business. (FYI I'm a Chartered Accountant).

As for the answer to your question, you're going to need at least one board director who is Australian. As a private company, you only need to have one directory minimum, but that's assuming they are Aussie.

Hey guys,
I have met some of you through OpenCoffee, StartUp Camp etc and I
thought this might be a good forum to tap up some expertise on
business structure.
I am here in Sydney on my girlfriends temporay visa (4 years) while I
wait for my residency application to be processed (who knows how long
that will take), does any one have any knowledge on what restrictions
apply to a non resident with regard setting up an Australian based LTD
company. I have heard that you must have at least 1 Australian
resident as director and secretary?

Any accountants on here that are willing to sit down with me for a
quick chat in return for beer / cash?

Thanks
Lee
