Hi Lee, (and I guess, CC the list) - I'm not defending the law, just mentioning it as a factor to be considered. Please keep half an eye on the conditions of the visa you're here under wrt work rights. I'm not a migration lawyer, nor a qualified agent, but... I know that people get into the poo every day for working when they kinda shouldn't be. I'm not saying that this applies in your particular case, just asking you to be aware of it.
There are some visa classes that are specifically intended for independent company directors who are coming to Australia to expand a business.
